Sli Cualann are very excited to announce that our junior women’s squad have been selected to compete at the European Clubs Cup in Portugal in September.
The junior women’s team, which includes double Irish schools medallist Amaris Borel and Irish schools 1500m champion Emma O’Brien, were chosen to be the Irish representative club at the championships in Leiria due to their strong performances during the 2014 campaign.
The competition, which will take place on September 19, pits some of the top clubs in Europe against each other and will be a great experience for our young athletes to get an opportunity to compete at an international level.
Over the next while, Sli Cualann AC hope to start a fundraising campaign to cover the costs involved, so keep an eye out for this to start soon.
Last Thursday, the squad gathered together for their first training session in the lead up to the international event. Their second session is planned for tomorrow at 7:00pm.
